Course Syllabus
Knowledge Development
Study rescue diver theory covering self-rescue, recognising and managing stress in divers, emergency management, and first aid.
Emergency First Responder (EFR)
Complete CPR, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration. EFR certification is a prerequisite and can be completed alongside this course.
Confined Water Exercises
10 rescue exercises in the pool. Practise tired diver tows, panicked diver management, and unresponsive diver at the surface.
Open Water Scenarios
Apply your skills in real open water. Simulate and manage realistic rescue scenarios with your instructor assessing your response.
Rescue Scenario & Certification
Complete a comprehensive rescue scenario demonstrating your ability to manage a diving emergency from start to finish.
What You Need
Prerequisites
- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
- Emergency First Responder (EFR) certification within 24 months
- Must be 12 years or older
- Minimum 20 logged dives recommended
- Complete a medical questionnaire
Schedule & Inclusions
Pool sessions: Monday evenings, Padiham Leisure Centre
Open water: UK quarry/lake sites, arranged around your schedule
Included: All equipment hire, PADI crew pack, certification card
Note: EFR course can be completed alongside Rescue Diver
